Kevin is an Arizona native. He was raised in a fun and loving Christian home and developed his own faith in Christ as a young child. After graduating from ASU, Kevin was employed as a Child Counselor in the care and treatment of children and their families. Kevin then ventured into the business world by supporting corporate litigations throughout the Nation and then, operated his own investigative business for 12 years. In 2010, Kevin answered God’s calling into full-time Ministry. After serving for 5 years as Children’s Ministry Pastor in the southeast Valley at Bethany Community Church that later merged with Sun Valley Community Church, he now ministers to children and their families as Children’s Pastor at Chaparral Christian Church in Scottsdale.
An outdoor enthusiast, Kevin loves the great state of Arizona and enjoys just about any activity outside. He likes to go camping, hiking, boating, biking, and anything else that involves the open air in God’s Incredible Creation. Kevin also enjoys traveling and exploring new places. Hawaii is one of Kevin’s favorite places. Kevin’s first trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG) in 2012 was to lead a team of volunteers to travel there and lead a program for the missionary kids and families living and serving in that region. During that trip, Kevin was able to spend some time in the Finisterre Mountains and be with the tribal people. It was through this first visit in meeting and being with the native people of PNG when Kevin instantly developed a love for the natives and grew a heart for these unreached people groups.
Joey has worked and ministered in the Mibu area of the Finisterre Mountain Range since 2002. As a result of the openness for the gospel in Mibu and the surrounding villages, as well as requests for missionaries from other areas, the desire has grown in his heart for many years to see the gospel permeate this area of the world.
Joey and his wife, Brooke, met in youth group when they were in high school, and got married 2 weeks after graduating. They graduated from New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson, MI; New Tribes Missions Institute in Jersey Shore, PA; and New Tribes Language Institute in Camdenton, MO.
Joey and Brooke have 7 children: Shiloh, Marietta, Solomon, Brielle, Brookelynn, Lilly, and Lincoln.
