25 days and our family will board a plane with one-way tickets to Papua New Guinea. I was considering our move the other day and how different our lives will be by this time next month. For instance:

Our current neighborhood.

Our future neighborhood. (Well… not these exact houses, but just like them. Comment if you know whose houses these are. Or if one is your house.)

The differences here are hard to imagine and most of the physical differences will be hard – they will mean more work to accomplish our daily tasks. And that is just inside of our home… then we step outside and live in a new world with a new language and new culture.

But as I consider all this, I am then reminded that our God does not change. One constant between Chandler and the Finisterre Mountains? The Lord God is the same yesterday, today, forever… here and there. I can rely on Him – on his character and promises.

Psalm 95:1-4

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;

let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

For the Lord is a great God,

and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth;

the heights of the mountains are his also.
