Craig and Sara Noyes

sent out by Grace Brethren Church of Irasburg,VT to plant churches among the Pano people

We need help. Not a little help, we need big-time help.

Our team has come to the field, learned the trade language; in our family’s case, served for years already. We’ve made contact with a people group lacking the Gospel and the Bible in their language. This tribe has invited us to build houses and live among them to learn their language, share the Gospel, disciple, and translate the Word. Right now we’re buying materials to build our houses and making plans to move to the bush.

(Check out our video summarizing meeting the tribe and agreeing to move in: Pano Survey)

But we’re also doing something else at the moment. We’re looking at the real possibility of having to do this ministry with almost no logistical support.

This is a serious enough issue that we’ve had to meet as a team and ask if this ministry can go forward if we don’t have that help.

Right now we’ve put together a plan, held together with a bunch of honkin-big bandaids. It is not a long-term solution (it’s not even a pleasant short-term solution). That is, we have a plan to get our houses built, move into the bush, and minister there without the outside logistical help but it WILL negatively affect the ministry in some significant ways AND lacks redundancy in some important areas. The lack of redundancy means it wouldn’t take much for us to have to step out of the bush indefinitely until logistical issues are figured out.

So here it is plain and simple. We need someone who is willing to come to PNG for at least 2 years to live in Madang city and do logistical support.

I am currently in that role but it is not what we came to the field to do and we need to move forward with the work God has given us to do. You don’t need special education, you don’t need to be gifted, you don’t need to be independently wealthy, and you don’t have to be “young” (though, we’ll take applications from those who fit those descriptions!).

If you’ve ever wondered if you should be doing something more, this is your chance. You’d be directly helping get the Gospel to a people group that hasn’t heard from their creator since the tower of Babel. Can you think of a better use of a couple years of your life?

If this speaks to you at all, please take a moment and ask God if this is something you should learn more about. The next step is to shoot me an email and start a conversation. This is something that would have to be done in cooperation with your local church but you’ll need some basic info before you can talk to your pastor.

Reflect on these statements while you pray and think.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33

“Then He said to them all, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.’” – Luke 9:23

“In a world where everything revolves around yourself – protect yourself, promote yourself, comfort yourself – Jesus says, “Crucify yourself.” – David Platt
