Would you like Finisterre Vision to automatically withdraw your donation from your bank account? Utilizing Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) authorizes our bank to debit your account automatically each month or for a single gift towards the missionary or project you want. Simply fill-out our online EFT Authorization form.
Donors are able to indicate a designation indicating a preference for how contributed funds will be allocated. While it is our practice that 100% of the funds go to the ministry designated, the Directors of Finisterre Vision have exclusive control and discretion as to the use of all contributions and Finisterre Vision is not bound to honor the recommendations of the donors nor will donors be able to recover a contribution because Finisterre Vision failed to honor the donor’s designation. If you have any questions about this please email us.

Training & Consultation Program
Training is free for missionaries and no percentage is taken out of donations to fund training or general expenses. Adding an additional 13% to your donation would cover all our training and general expenses. Please consider giving a one-time or recurring gift to help keep us going.
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes! Finisterre Vision is a 501(c)(3) organization.
If you wish to change your contributions, if you change financial institutions, or if you have any questions, please let us know by emailing us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
What percentage of my gift does Finisterre Vision take out?
We do not take a percentage of gifts made for the ministry of missionaries. 100% of your gift goes toward the ministry that you designate it for. Like any other organization, Finisterre Vision has expenses like electric, admin salaries, printing costs, website maintenance. While these expenses are small, they are a vital component to the overall goal of establishing churches in remote areas in Papua New Guinea. If you are led to give towards these expenses, please make a donation towards our general fund.
Note that PayPal charges 30 cents + 2.2% when you use their service for giving via a PayPal account or credit card. If you give $50, then $1.40 goes to PayPal, $48.60 goes to your missionary, and you receive a receipt from Finisterre Vision for $50. To avoid this fee, we suggest setting up giving through direct deposit.
What is the recommended support level for missionaries?
It takes between $6,000 and $7,000 per month for church planters to accomplish their ministry. This varies, depending on family size. The logistics coordinator position requires about $8,000 per month. The higher cost for the logistics coordinator is mainly because of the very expensive rent costs of living in Madang. Additionally, the first year of service usually costs an additional $75,000 in order for a missionary to get set up. Feel free to ask your missionary about what their specific needs are, or contact us at the office.
How are support levels determined?
Finisterre Vision regularly looks at the cost of living, travel, ministry, etc., and makes a recommendation with the mindset of keeping missionaries out of emergency mode. We prefer our missionaries to have a level of support that doesn’t require them to have to write home asking for more money several times a year.
Some aspects of living and ministering in remote locations are expensive: Communication with the outside world, travelling in and out of the village and occasionally back to the U.S. are examples of large expenses that missionaries have. On the other hand, some expenses are very small: Missionaries living in a village don’t have an electric or water bill. Here is an example of how much it costs:
Ministry Administration $100
PNG Visas $45
Satellite Internet $200
House Maintenance $75
Kids’ Education $115
Kids’ Future Education $375
Meds/Dr. Visits/Dental $125
Health & Evac. Insurance $625
Vehicle usage $100
Furlough Tickets $400
Air Transportation $1,000
Can missionaries go to Papua New Guinea if they do not have 100% of their support?
Yes, but this does create a budget problem for the missionary. The greatest gift you can give towards the establishment of a church in village in PNG is regular support to a missionary.
How long does it take for my gift to reach my missionary?
Once your gift is received by Finisterre Vision, your missionary receives instant notification of your donation and they have instant access to the funds.
