This week, our work has shifted a bit. In order to have a map of the area, a census of how many people live here, and just a familiarity with the people (names, relationships, houses), we have begun a house census. Making our way from our house up to the other side of the ridge, we are spending time each morning and afternoon interviewing each household and taking pictures.

This is our second day and we already know the people here so much better! “That sweet old smiley lady?” -“Oh, she lives here with her son!” “That girl who carried Oliver all the way down to the soccer field on our hike?” -“Oh, this is her family!”
